Product Conditions
These product conditions apply to the purchase and/or use of SOLIDHODL products. If the Product Conditions contain conflicting terms with the General Terms and Conditions or any other applicable terms, the Product Conditions shall prevail.
1. Limited Warranty Statement
General rules
1.1 Your SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase serves as a backup to regain access to your (crypto) assets and adds an extra layer of security to your (crypto) assets. SOLIDHODL allows you to store your recovery seed phrase in 3mm-thick stainless-steel storage that is designed to be less susceptible to water, fire, and corrosion.
1.2 This limited warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. The warranty period of SOLIDHODL products is 2 years. A replacement product or part acquires the remaining warranty of the original product.
1.3 During the warranty period, Aurum Novum I B.V. will repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance. Aurum Novum I B.V. will repair the product at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts. Aurum Novum I B.V. will replace the product with a new product or a similar product of similar value, under the terms of this warranty statement.
1.4 This limited warranty is non-transferable.
1.5 The SOLIDHODL products may be purchased for business or non-business purposes, but not for resale.
1.6 If any provision of the product conditions is or becomes illegal, invalid, or unenforceable under any applicable law or regulation, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
1.7 To the extent consistent with consumer laws and regulations, Dutch law applies to the product conditions and the court of Arnhem shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these product conditions.
What does the limited warranty not cover?
1.8 Security measures of (crypto) assets depend on the personal circumstances of the crypto-owner. It is therefore the responsibility of the crypto-owner to undertake appropriate measures to secure (crypto) assets. Under no circumstances shall Aurum Novum I B.V. be liable for loss of crypto, (digital) assets, property, or other information due to defect, damage, or loss of the product.
1.9 If the SOLIDHODL product has not been purchased for private purposes, Aurum Novum I B.V. will not be responsible or liable for any costs, expenses, damages and losses (including, but not limited to, any direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, goodwill, loss of business opportunity or anticipated savings, and all interest, penalties and legal costs (calculated on a full indemnity basis)) unless such losses directly result from gross negligence, willful default or fraud of Aurum Novum I B.V.
1.10 This limited warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by:
• Conditions, malfunctions, or damage not resulting from defects in material or workmanship;
• Conditions, malfunctions, or damage resulting from negligence, improper maintenance, or modification, damaged or destroyed by natural causes including but not limited to lightning, flood, or other natural disasters;
• Theft or loss of the SOLIDHODL product.
1.11 Aurum Novum I B.V. does not provide a guarantee of readability of the SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase plate.
1.12 If the consumer punches the wrong icon on a SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase plate, the customer will not be able to return the product for warranty.
How to obtain a warranty service?
1.13 To obtain a warranty service, you must first contact us to determine the problem and the most appropriate solution for you. You can contact us by e-mail: shop@btcdirect.eu.
1.14 To be eligible for a return, you need the receipt or proof of purchase. Deliver the product in its original packaging, including any accessories or documents that were provided with the product, according to the return policy of the shop where you purchased the product.
1.15 If we accept your warranty request, we recommend that you punch additional words into the SOLIDHODL when you return the product to keep the word combination secret and your (crypto) assets safe.
2. Instructions
2.1 The following instructions are written to assist consumers with handling SOLIDHODL products and do not in any way affect the above limited warranty, including the legal interpretation of the limited warranty.
2.2 Keep SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase plates and puncher pens away from children, minors, and (legally) incapacitated persons. Do not (re)use the pen for any purpose other than punching the SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase plate.
2.3 The SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase is an offline storage of your personal key. Make sure you have this (written) generated personal key at hand when you start installing the SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase plate.
How to install the recovery seed phrase?
2.4 To secure your recovery phrase with SOLIDHODL, please follow the next steps as described below or follow the animated steps on our website: https://solidhodl.com/pages/start
i. Before you start perforating the SOLIDHODL plate, make sure you are in a place without distractions or other people.
ii. Use a stable, slippery-free, and flat surface for placing the SOLIDHODL plate.
iii. Place your own (written) recovery seed phrase next to the blank SOLIDHODL recovery seed phrase plate.
iv. Place the sleeve around the SOLIDHODL plate with the open side facing the front of the plate. Slide the opening of the sleeve to 'column 1' and read word ‘number 1’ on your own (written) recovery seed phrase.
v. Make sure to always double-check the placement of the dots. Once you punch a dot in the SOLIDHODL plate, you will not be able to make any changes.
vi. Place the puncher pen on the appropriate field and make sure that two hands are firmly holding the puncher pen. Punch the first four letters of 'word 1' in 'column 1' after double-checking the correctness of the located dots.
vii. Repeat this process (word 2 in column 2, word 3 in column 3 etc.) until all the words of the recovery seed phrase are correctly displayed on the SOLIDHODL plate.
viii. If your recovery sentence consists of 18 or 24 words, turn the plate over after you have punched 12 words. Start with "column 13" for "word 13”.
ix. Dispose your own (written) recovery seed phrase only when you are sure that the recovery seed phrase on the SOLIDHODL plate is correct. To ensure that the correct recovery seed phrase is displayed on the SOLIDHODL plate, you can reset and recover your wallet by using the recovery seed phrase from the SOLIDHODL plate.
· If you want to discard the paper version of your recovery seed backup, we advise you to do so in such a way that the paper version becomes illegible.
